YouTube Music has brought its annual roundup, featuring all-time viewing, top artists and songs, revised album art and more, to its in-app tap access page. Alternatively, you can go to the 2023 summary by selecting your profile picture (located in the upper right corner of the home page) and tapping "Your Cap" from the resulting list. For those who want to actually use YouTube, an identical experience is available through the video sharing platform via a different summary page. You can find this page by going to youtube.com/musicrecap or searching for "recap". After finishing the latter, you'll see options to save a playlist of the best songs of 2023 and watch a full recap video. Do I need a subscription to use Recap? You don't need a subscription to watch YouTube Music all year. Instead, listening summaries are live for everyone, including YouTube Premium and Music subscribers and ad-supported users. Why can't I see a summary? You may not see the summary because there is not enough listening time for 2023. YouTube requires "a minimum of 4 hours of music listening per season" across all of its platforms to create a user summary.
Playback is also not available when "auto-delete is set for events older than 3 months," according to Google/YouTube, and may be temporarily disabled if you've recently deleted or modified your YouTube watch history.

Like Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay, YouTube Music Wrapped is meant to be shared. You can share your summary playlists like regular playlists. In the YouTube Music app, tap the three-dot menu next to the song library, select "share" and follow the onscreen instructions. Meanwhile, YouTube Music users can upload photo cards from their playlists using the arrow icon on the Replay page, send photos via SMS or export them to social platforms. You can share YouTube playlists and YouTube Music tracks in the same way.
