Over 75,000 artists in 20+ countries can now sell concert tickets directly within the TikTok app
In August 2022, TikTok entered into a ticketing partnership with Live Nation-owned Ticketmaster to allow TikTok users to purchase concert tickets from the TikTok app. Now, the companies are expanding the partnership to more than 20 new markets in the US after a beta release in 2022. The feature is now available to more than 75,000 artists.
Integration is currently underway in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
In these participating countries, certified TikTok artists can now select the Add Link option on Ticketmaster before submitting a video. They can then search for any event on Ticketmaster and click Add to Video to add a link. When creators share their videos, TikTok users see a "Get Tickets" button in the video description, which directs users to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster.
To date, the partnership has run ticket campaigns for both established and emerging artists, comedians and sports teams, including Niall Horan, The Kooks, Burna Boy and Shania Twain.
TikTok says videos from artists, sports teams and event organizers have been viewed more than 2.5 billion times since its beta launch using the in-app. Expanding its partnership with Ticketmaster marks TikTok's latest move into the world of live events. Last month, TikTok announced that it will host its first live music event titled "TikTok In The Mix" on December 10, 2023 at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, and will also be broadcast worldwide via TikTok Live. (The venue's ticketing partner is tickets.com and TikTok's organizing partner is DWP.)
The lineup includes headliners Cardi B, Niall Horan, Anitta, and Charlie Puth, along with up-and-coming talent from TikTok's Elevate program, Sam Barber, Isabel LaRosa, Kaliii, and LU KALA. "We're giving fans the ability to buy tickets directly through TikTok, giving artists a whole new way to reach ticket buyers and changing the game for live events around the world."
